Compliance and disputes

Supporting a family-owned manufacturer through a shareholder dispute

Supporting a family-owned manufacturer through a shareholder dispute

A family-owned manufacturing business is undergoing a dispute following the planned exit of one shareholder.  Disagreement arose around the valuation of the company, particularly concerning several trade marks, proprietary designs and customer relationships developed over two decades.

We were engaged by legal counsel to provide a formal valuation of the business and its key intangible assets. The work include financial modelling, asset-by-asset analysis, and market comparables.  We also assess the legal strength of trade mark registrations and the transferability of customer contracts.

Our report forms part of expert evidence during mediation and helps all parties reach a resolution.  The client values the independence, structure and clarity of the valuation, which becomes a foundation for equitable negotiations.
